The biggest win of this project focused on creating a rock solid workflow for this client. This set the foundation for an efficient method of publishing in both domains.
The workflow hinges on a central hub for content development. THOR uses Adobe InCopy as the document of record for the entire process. We deployed content from InCopy to InDesign for print, and from InCopy to WordPress for digital.
At all times during the process, editors have the most up-to-date version of the content at their disposal through our file management solution, Box. This allows for the print portion of the magazine to develop over the course of weeks, where editors can publish the digital side at a moment’s notice.
THOR builds this workflow into our preferred project management system, Trello. The system allows us to track individual stories as they progress through the stages of development.
Each publication we work with has a unique data structure we customize WordPress around. It's our favorite choice for magazines. Editors, including those at Aerospace America, enjoy the familiar administrative user interface. This speeds content production cycles and allows our clients to run lean production teams.
The Aerospace America site was a significant workflow departure for our client's editorial team. Change management is part of what THOR helps clients navigate. For the team in charge of Aerospace America, that meant training in the WordPress dashboard and ongoing support. This helped to answer questions and make minor adjustments as articles and new workflows developed into a new process for the editorial team.
THOR has been supporting this publication for over seven years with our class-leading support. We look forward to working with you on a similar project.
